Thank you for sharing your point of view on this. I guess I haven't been clear eugonh in what I am doing and why. No, nobody is gaining financially from this; in fact, I am not earning anything, and am eating up my savings to cover all my expenses for this because I believe it is important for the broader public to start understanding the problems in our system when it comes to how children are raised. My hope is that by hearing the real stories, both good and bad, it will help make more people care about the problems and work to fix them. It is a lot easier for someone living a nice life to start caring if they get to know the people behind the statistics. I have no doubt that there are awful foster parents as well as wonderful ones. There are kids who come from great backgrounds but still run into problems, and a great many others who have struggled to overcome poor parenting, and even abuse. Some have overcome it; some have not. All, no doubt, carry emotional scars. I hope this helps clarify. And, by the way, I have no problem with people telling their stories without using their real names. Thanks. I hope you have a wonderful 2011!
