Depends on the seriousness of the offnese. If it's good enough for comedic fodder, it's good enough for us. No one's saying Sanford ought to be impeached because he writes bad erotica. But if it's part of a pattern of bizarre behavior and irresponsibility in the discharge of his duties, then it's valid. The story is this guy vanished for a week in pursuit of a love interest, leaving the state without a governor. That's not a personal matter. The difference between Sanford and Clinton is that Clinton still carried out his presidential duties as normal, and no one could claim otherwise, even though the Repugnants tried.The governor's love interest, Maria, was identified, but the media in this country appropriately kept her name out of the story, for the most part. She's the innocent victim in all of this. Her name was dragged through the governor's self-absorbed, egomaniacal, navel-gazing, God-fearing muck. What about her life and her kids? Did he stop to think about that before carrying on about God, Bible, and "sparks"? Sanford deserves everything that's coming to him, including the publication of his crappy love letters.
