A few things i have seen in terms of pc memory is there are technical specs such as SDRAM, DDR etc, that must fit in with the technical specs of the motherboard. If the computer's motherboard is fairly current while there are no computer OS issues, replacing the ram literally usually takes under one hour. It's among the list of easiest pc upgrade methods one can visualize. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
