Special Delivery: Part Four (Repost) reviews
Real brain power on diplsay. Thanks for that answer!
Thanks for the interest in my tihses work- I'm an English Lit major, but I'm considering pursuing Masters in women's studies, so I'm conducting this research from a literary and sociological perspective. My tihses title is: From The Madwoman in the Attic to The Devil Wears Prada: How Feminist Criticism of 19th Century Novels has Shaped Images of Modern Day Women Basically the Mad Woman in the Attic is the foundational text for feminist literary criticism, the authors Sandra Gilber and Susan Grubar, explore how authors up through the 19th Centry simplified feminity and female characters into basic archetypes- the angel or the monster. My arguement is that those archetypes are still widely applied to women of modern times- powerful, aggressive women like Anna Wintour are monsters and unthreatening woman like Jennifer Garner are angels Gaga comes into play because I believe she embraces the monsterous and the role of mother monster as an ironic statement about female empowerment.Ok that was way too long- hope you're not sorry you asked, lol.
